Travel
Cagliari can be easily reached by plane, thanks to its modern international airport 5 Km to the city centre. Direct flights connect Cagliari to the major Italian towns (Rome, Milan, Turin, Florence, Naples, Bologna, Venice, etc.), and many European cities (Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Barcelona, London, Paris, etc.). Other international connections are operated through the airports of Alghero and Olbia, located in the northern part of Sardinia and connected to Cagliari by buses and trains. Sardinia can be also reached by ferryboats departing form Genova, Livorno or Rome.
Accomodation
Here, you can download a list of recommended hotels and B&B located in the city center. All of them are within walking distance (20 min) from the main conference venue (Architettura). Depending on where you start from some additional 10 minutes may be necessary to reach the faculty of Engineering.
For further information and assistance for finding an accomodation in Cagliari please contact the organizing secretariat of the conference.
Alternatively, a complete, official list of accomodation in Cagliari is provided by the Tourism Council. You can also browse for central bed-and-breakfast style accommodation through an interactive map of B&B's. Another good starting point for searching an accomodation in Cagliari can be found here.
Local Area
You might also want to read up a bit on Sardinia, or have a look at some travel guides to get into the mood (English | Italian). The local government Tourism Council provides a wealth of general information. If you are curious about Sardinian food and wine, we can warmly recommend the council's culinary pages as a starting point.
